Charmian sings one of the Grisettes in Franz Lehar’s ever popular Operatic romp – The Merry Widow in a new production by the Opera Project for the West Green House 2011 Opera Season in Hampshire. Starring Yvonne Kenny and conducted by Jonathan Lyness. Directed and designed by Richard Studer.

Bach Cantatas | Wigmore Hall
Charmian continues her association with the Academy of Ancient Music as a soloist in this series of concert performances of Bach’s Cantatas, O Ewigkeit, du Donnerwort BWV 20, Erhalt uns, Herr, bei deinem Wort BWV 126 & Wir müßen durch viel Trübsal BWV 146. This will mark the end of the AAM’s ‘Bach Dynasty Series’. Academy of Ancient Music | Bach Family
Listen to Charmian and members of the Academy of Ancient Music sing Heinrich Bach’s Cantata “Ich danke dir, Gott” recorded for BBC Radio 3’s Early Music Show on 18th June 2011 presented by Catherine Bott from BBC Philharmonic Studio, MediaCityUK, Salford.
And listen out on 31st July 2011 at 5pm on Discovering Music for a performance of JS Bach’s Magnificat, presented by Sara Mohr-Pietsch.
Opéra-Comique | Le Freischütz
Charmian will be performing one of the bridesmaids in the Opéra-Comique’s new production of Weber’s Der Freischütz, in its French version with recitatives by Berlioz. Conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner with Mise en scène by Dan Jemmet and Décor by Dick Bird.

Rigoletto | Bury Court Opera
Following its success with last year’s all-female production of Dido and Aeneas, Bury Court Opera presents Verdi’s masterpiece in its idyllic rural setting in Surrey.
Charmian will be performing Countess Ceprano in the forthcoming production as well as understudying the rôle of Gilda.
Directed by Emma Rivlin and conducted by Simon Over with the Southbank Sinfonia.

Dido and Aeneas | Silent Opera
Charmian will be performing Belinda in this innovative production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at the Debut London, an extraordinary venue beneath London Bridge. Based on the concept of Silent Disco, this is Silent Opera. The audience will will wear headphones and will listen to both live performance and pre-recorded orchestra, following the action through the tunnels. Directed by Daisy Evans for the company “Coming up” as part of the Old Vic New Voices programme. Conducted by Christopher Bucknall.

Recital | Royal Academy of Music

Programme includes Debussy Ariettes oubliées, songs by Saint-Saëns and Ravel and two new Song Cycles by contemporary composers Graham Williams and Lloyd Moore which have been specially written for this occasion. Charmian will be accompanied by Richard Shaw.

Dhammapada | Vignette Productions
Charmian performed as one of eight voices in the world première of Ron Corp’s Dhammapada, a collection of sayings of the Buddha compiled by his followers after his death 2,500 years ago. It is the core work in Buddhist thought.
